About the Marketplace

The Fibershed Marketplace has launched!

The Fibershed Marketplace brings the farmers and artisans of our region together to provide you with raw, and finished goods that represent the fusion and artistry that inspired the one-year wardrobe.  Through more than a year of research & design and wearability tests, we are so happy to be able to offer these sacred and beautiful goods to our community.  May you feel the joy and contentment of the people, plants and animals that came together to make our marketplace!

Seventy to ninety percent of each purchase you make goes directly to the artisans and farmers, while the remainder advances our goals of a renewable energy powered supply chain.  A portion of your purchase goes directly towards establishing and improving a bio-regional manufacturing base, that in turn, will help provide new jobs and will advance the quality and scope of our local textile offerings.

All items sold in the Fibershed marketplace are certified in the following areas:

  • All fibers are raised by local farmers and ranchers (within the 150 mile region)
  • All dyes are certified organically grown, or, harvested from invasive species—and or tended native plants
  • All artisans live and work within the 150-mile region
  • All milling is done within the 150 mile radius, unless otherwise specified.
(Caveat: some wool varieties, and none of our cotton, can be milled regionally and we mark those yarns that have travelled a bit longer distance for their milling. We are in process of developing our mill facilities.)

We welcome submissions to the marketplace:

If you fulfill the above requirements for your raw material or finished good(s), send an email with a description and photo of each product to fibershed@gmail.com.

If you have made a purchase from the Fibershed Marketplace, please share your experience about the products and service below. Thanks!
