Learn to practice and cultivate emotional intelligence and deep communication skills for both professional and personal growth in this 3-part series.

  • Part 1: Elements of Empathy: In this 90-minute interactive workshop we will delve into the elements of empathic listening with exercises for the head, heart, and gut that will deepen your ability to listen and your understanding of empathy.

The workshops focus on practical learnable skills to increase emotional intelligence and social sustainability for business owners. Participants will go away with some new insight and understanding of how their emotions and actions affect the people around them. Take the time to work on self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills- the key realms of emotional intelligence.

Each workshop can be taken as a stand-alone and together they build a solid foundation. These practical learnable skills support:

  1. transforming blame and criticism into consideration and respect, through connection to the underlying needs that drive behavior
  2. discerning what is actually happening right now, distinguishing observation from opinion
  3. understanding the positive intention of our emotions:  feelings indicate that something is important right now
  4. identifying underlying universally shared values to motivate and support connection
  5. informing creative choices that work for all concerned
  6. interacting with the dynamics of power in ways that increase cooperation and satisfaction in our relationships
