In this 2 part class, you’ll learn all of the basic skills you need to spin your own yarn. Session 1: You’ll learn to about the basic fibers, how to draft, control the twist, and wrap the spindle. You will spin wool from a batt and from rolags, and learn the difference between worsted and woolen spinning. Your homework in between sessions is to continue spinning in preparation for session 2. Session 2: We will remove the fiber from your spindle and ply it into two-ply yarn. You’ll learn two ways of doing this: making a plying ball and the Andean plying method.
There is HOMEWORK in between Session 1 & 2 (read above).
