California Wool and Fiber Festival

September 13, 2019 - September 15, 2019

Event Navigation

The California Wool and Fiber Festival (CWFF) hosts one of the country’s oldest and largest wool shows, the California National Wool Show, held every year since 1926!  The California National Wool Show draws hundreds of fleeces from all over California and the nation for competitive judging, culminating in our annual fleece sale! You are invited to observe the competition as the judge evaluates each entry and awards prizes in each class. There is a lot to be learned in listening to a knowledgeable judge comment on the condition, character, properties, and uses of various fibers.
The Festival also features wonderful, creative, vendors; a used equipment boothsheep shearing demonstrations by Matt Gilbert; Angora rabbit fiber gathering demonstration by Charlie Lacey; and a delightful fiber arts show! Get involved, bring your spinning wheel or spindle and join us in the spinning circle every day or in the spinning competition on Sunday.
The California Wool and Fiber Festival (CWFF) takes place in conjunction with the Mendocino County Fair and Apple Show in the picturesque Anderson Valley of Northern California. Visitors can enjoy various fair activities including livestock competitions, crafts, country living arts, and machinery as well as live music, rides, and various food booths!  Also on the festival grounds, we are proud to have the Sheep Dog Trials that showcase some of the best herding dogs in the area. Settle into the covered stadium seating and spend some time admiring the amazing talents of these dogs and their handlers.
