Hat-A-Thon – Each month, learn a different technique and make a cute hat!
September: Cables (1 session) October: Fair Isle Colorwork (1 session) November (Dates TBD): Bobbles (2 sessions)
This month, we’ll be learning cables! Believe it or not, there are two different cables in this adorb hat! I’ll show you my tricks for each one.
MATERIALS: Yarn: Bring your own yarn (150 yards of chunky weight yarn), OR use ours! (make selection at checkout) Needles: US 7 + 9 16″ circular + US 9 DPN’s (pattern recommends 6 and 8’s, however, I found the designer to be an extremely loose knitter!) Other: Stitch markers + cable needle
Homework: Download pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tiilda-hat Cast on and work through ribbing, ready to begin cables.
Skill Requirements: Confident at knitting, purling, and knitting in the round. You need to be comfortable with making a basic hat. Advanced Beginner.
Taught by: Alisha Reyes
