Intro to Wool Work – Spinning Wool

September 21 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Event Navigation

In this 4-part series, you’ll learn the skills needed to turn raw fleece into a woven tapestry, step by step. Drop-in for one or complete all of these in-depth, hands-on classes on wool work. No experience is necessary, beginners welcome and encouraged to join.

Sep 21 – Spinning Wool: Turn clean, carded fleece into yarn with a drop spindle. Participants will get individual attention to get the hang of this age-old skill. Participants will also have a chance to experiment with guidance on a spinning wheel.

Space is very limited, pre-registration is required. Please don’t hesitate to inquire about Sliding Scale rates!

About the Instructor: Kathryn has been spinning, knitting, and weaving for 9 years and currently focuses on using scrap and waste material for art. She runs weaving production for the Mendocino Wool Mill and is fascinated by humanity’s use of fibers across time and culture.
