Event Navigation

A love of adornment is one of our most basic tendencies. It exists in all cultures, telling stories about who we are and how we see ourselves. Come together is this class to make your own simple clothing and hone your sense of personal style. Be inspired to develop your sewing skills in a group of fun loving and creative women. Start with easy and then sooner than you think you’ll be making clothing of more complexity. If you already are an accomplished sewist, join the group for all the good energy that a supportive group offers! If you rather hand stitch or embroider, the class is open for you too. If you miss a class you may make up in any of the other classes I teach .(Only if space is available and in the same session).  Teacher: Pia Andersson. To register and for questions: marinsewinglab@gmail.com or ph # 415 506 4044

Why sew?

There is a whole world of people out there who “used to sew” garments and home textiles for themselves and for one reason or another, they gave up. With the sewing and garment “revolution” taking hold, women are returning to the fun and creativity of their youth and the now the younger generation is leading the way!
Pia Andersson is the founder and teacher at Marin Sewing Lab.  She was the creative director and ceo of Mimi the Sardine from 1990-2014.  Her passion is to create artful communities based on her experiences in design and production and educational background in textile engineering and textile arts. Presently she’s a student in the Fashion Studies Program at Santa Rosa JC.
