Red Willow Pond

Bodega, CA

Raising a small flock of Navajo-Churro sheep outside the quaint town of Bodega, we are devoted to restoration ecology, and steward a vernal pool rich with native plants alongside a grassland ecosystem off Salmon Creek.

We guard our sheep with Toni, a guardian llama, and fences.¬† Our Cotton Patch Geese are also watchful and alert, but mostly we think they are fun to observe and we chose them because they are grass grazers too, and on The Livestock Conservancy’s Critical list.

We also keep about a dozen chickens, all of which were chosen for their excellent foraging and hardiness, including Wyendotte, Welsummers, Delawares and Ameraucana.

We are currently producing organic free range eggs and will be sheep breeding for 2019, selling lambs, fleece and possibly meat.
